Sony Ericsson W800i Reviewed

Sony Ericsson W800 W800i cameraphone WalkmanMobile Burn features a Sony Ericsson W800 review and writes:

“Sony Ericsson’s W800i is the company’s first Walkman branded phone. As music becomes more and more important to mobile phone buyers, it only makes sense for Sony Ericsson to try to leverage one of the biggest brands in the history of mobile music - the Walkman.

Even though the W800 cameraphone does have the obvious Walkman branding and and vastly improved music application, it is otherwise almost identical to the Sony Ericsson K750.

The Sony Ericsson W800 shares the same display, battery, 2 megapixel auto-focus camera, and 2GB capable Memory Stick Duo Pro expansion slot - even though the W800 gets a much larger 512MB card included in the retail package.”

The Conclusion of this review:

Like the K750 that it shares so much with, the Sony Ericsson W800 is simply a fantastic phone. It has a great camera and user interface, managed over 10.5 hours of talk time in our test, and has the best music app I have seen in a phone yet - all in a very flashy and good looking package. If you are looking for a mobile phone with both a good camera and good music abilities, it simply doesn’t get better than the Sony Ericsson W800 at this time. I give it a “Highly Recommended” rating.

But how long the W800 can hold the top spot remains to be seen with Motorola’s ROKR series and Nokia’s N91 looming on the horizon.
